Why beef tallow?

Beef tallow is deeply nourishing for our skin and is filled with valuable vitamins and fatty acids. It is rich in Vitamins A, B12, D, E, and K. It also contains omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids which work together to heal and protect skin. Tallow also contains conjugated linoleic acid which gives it anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.

Does tallow clog pores?

Tallow is non-comedogenic which means that it does not clog pores! In fact, tallow is very biologically similar to the natural oils of our own skin!

Is tallow good for sensitive skin?

Yes! Our tallow products are all very gentle and contain no harmful chemicals or additives. The essential oils we use for scent are 100% pure and well diluted in the product.

Is tallow good for acne?

Yes! Tallow has anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as healing properties which can help to repair skin. It is also non-comedogenic and will not clog pores!

How should I use tallow?

Tallow can be used on all parts of the body including face, hands, elbows, knees, feet, and even hair. The trick is to start with a small amount, warm it in your hands and then apply as desired. If it ever feels too thick or greasy, just use a little less product. Try it out and find what works best for you!

Tallow for haircare

One of my favorite ways to use tallow is for hair! We reccomend using a very small amount of tallow balm, warm it in your hands, and apply to the ends of clean, wet hair. It can also be used as a hydrating hair mask, use a generous amount and massage into hair and scalp, allow to sit for 1-3 hrs, then shampoo and wash hair as usual.

How are these products scented?

We use 100% pure, food-grade essential oils. For some products we also use pure almond and vanilla extracts. All oils are added at about a 1% percent dilution.
